Carol began her business and accounting career in 1971 after she received a BA in Mathematics from Ithaca College. After working in the accounting department of S.B. Thomas Inc., a food manufacturer located in Totowa, New Jersey, she moved to Vermont in 1976 where she worked in the public accounting firm of Thompson, Kelly, Jacobs, and Gallagher. While working there, she began taking courses in accounting, auditing, taxation, and business law at the University of Vermont and earned her CPA certificate in 1979. She spent the next nine years working in small public accounting firms in both Barre and Burlington, Vermont, responsible for preparing financial statements and tax returns for a diverse corporate and individual client base.
In 1988 she left the public accounting field and over the next thirteen years worked as controller for a New England regional food distributor, as the accounting director for Bombardier Capital, Inc., a financial services company located in Colchester, Vermont, and most recently, as both the controller and director of financial analysis for Blodgett Oven division of G.S. Blodgett Corporation in Burlington, Vermont.
Carol has been a member of Chittenden County Zonta, an international service organization of professional women since 1986. She has served as president and treasurer. Her professional memberships include the Vermont Society of CPAs and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Carol currently lives in Williston, Vermont with her husband Jim who is also a Certified Public Accountant.
