Carolyn began her career in accounting after enjoying an earlier
career as a full-time mother and wife. She earned a Bachelor's
degree from West Virginia University, and then followed her
husband's geographic career path, living in West Virginia,
Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas before settling in Vermont.
She was active in volunteer work, including being a founding
member and vice president/treasurer of Westside Montessori
School in Houston, Texas; volunteering with Cub Scouts, Girl
Scouts, school and church; and serving the Norwich University
Women's Club, as president, treasurer, and chair of the scholarship
bazaar. After taking courses in accounting, taxation, business
law, computers, and economics at Norwich University while working
for a Northfield accountant, she took the CPA exam in 1994
and joined Herrick, Ltd. in 1995.
At Herrick, Carolyn enjoys working with a number of individual
and small business clients.
Some areas of special professional interest include issues involving U.S. taxpayers abroad, and the real estate industry. Professional memberships include the Vermont Society of CPAs, on whose boards she currently serves, and the AICPA.
She continues volunteer activities, including serving as treasurer
of the board of directors of Good Beginnings of Central Vermont,
a mother-infant visitation and mentoring program. She lives
in Northfield with her husband John.
